About me

Photography is a dream job for me!  I've loved all things creative for as long as I can remember.  I'd taken photography classes here and there but it wasn't until after we brought our son home in 2004 that I became a student of the art, reading everything I could get my hands on and talking to anyone who would talk to me about it.

After enjoying a successful 13 year career in Marketing for a major publishing company, I found myself wanting to take on the role of the creative vendors I was hiring.  I took the leap and left the corporate world to pursue some exciting design opportunities.  It was then that photography and documenting my own child's life through pictures became an addiction, a passion that I love to share with others.

As a Mom of two, I know how quickly time passes and how those memories we think we'll remember forever quickly fade over time.  Being behind the camera capturing moments of your lives, then coming home and creating pieces of art that will tell your story for generations to come has been such an incredible experience.  Every client, every session is different and unique so this job never grows old!

My most important job, however, is right here at home.  I'm a wife to an amazingly supportive husband (I should write that twice!), and an adoptive mom to two beautiful kids, Brendan (7) and Kyra (3), who keep me running but I wouldn't change a thing.  I'm also a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor, not always in that order but all major roles that make my life feel complete.

beautiful momma { westchester maternity photographer }

I had the pleasure of heading to Westchester to meet this beautiful Momma for the first time.  Is she glowing or what? When she answered the door, it felt like an old friend welcoming me into her home.  And what a beautiful home it was!  If I’d had more time, I would’ve taken pictures of […]

time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin …

Did anyone get the Steve Miller reference in the title or am I just dating myself?  As we’re finally heading into some warmer weather, I was thinking of all the concerts we’ve been to, many in the summer.  Growing up in Plattsburgh, I spent much of my time at SPAC and I can’t even count […]

pretty in pink { hudson valley newborn photographer }

Little Miss was good at faking the sleepy thing but never quite zonked out like we wanted her to. That was okay because I think she really liked being entertained by big brother and let me tell you, he is just as much a love as his new baby sister! 🙂

6 months sweet { hudson valley baby photographer }

Well life is a little crazy right now.  Not in a bad way, just … well … crazy.  I turned forty-“something” yesterday and have been doing a lot of re-evaluating, taking a hard look at the positive things in my life, along with the negative and finding ways to better prioritize or completely shift gears […]

i heart faces: slice of life

Things have been a little crazy around here and I’ve missed a few weeks over at I Heart Faces.  And when I say I’ve missed them, I’m not only talking about not participating in the weekly challenge, I have seriously missed all the inspiration over there!  When I saw this week’s theme was “Slice of […]

Staying Local { hudson valley commercial photographer }

AnneMichelle and I first met over dinner a number of years ago when our husbands reunited after a long hiatus.  They were long time school friends and bandmates who share a passion for music.  While Pete went on to pursue a successful career in the corporate world, Steve made a name for himself in stage […]

i heart faces: anything but a face

Of course we all love looking at faces over at I Heart Faces but this week the theme is “Anything But a Face”.  As usual, I dug into my files looking for a particular image from a client session, this time one of a newborn’s tiny feet decorated with Mom and Dad’s wedding rings.  But […]

project 52, week 9

Wow, a week has gone by already!  This week’s Project 52 theme is “express yourself”.  I guess Kyra is my muse of late since here she is again.  This one really captures her style, her ability to throw an outfit together.  No one does it quite like Kyra.  And this is toned down believe it […]

Project 52, Week 8

This week’s Project 52 theme over at MCP Actions is “The View From Here”.  I caught my daughter checking out a family of eagles with the binoculars while we were away this weekend and thought it would be an interesting take on the theme this week. 🙂
